we are celebrating 173 years of confectionery in the Star Rock shop. The shop has been established since 1833. The shop was first founded by David Ferguson, Who hand-made Humbugs, Horehounds and our famous Star Rock. He made these by boilng, cooling, twisting and pulling the mixture on a large metal hook then hand rolling it out on a cool slab even though he was blind.
